Maine Women's Fund Hires New Communications and Marketing Director
FALMOUTH, Maine. July 15, 2015—The Maine Women’s Fund, the only Maine foundation focused exclusively on advancing women’s and girl’s economic security, announces the hiring of a new staff member.
Lauren Webster LaFrance joined the staff as Communications and Marketing Director in July 2015. A Maine native, she’s a long time resident of the greater Portland area but has also resided Down East, in Central Maine and on the border in Jackman. She's a dual-degree alumna from the University of Southern Maine (USM) with a BA in Women's Studies and an MA in American & New England Studies. Prior to joining the Maine Women’s Fund, Lauren administrated the USM Women & Gender Studies Program as the Assistant to the Director for thirteen years. Lauren has advanced skills in communications, social media marketing, event coordination, and community engagement. Her volunteerism includes being a steering committee member for the Gaslight League (a social club organized to benefit Victoria Mansion, a National Historic Landmark) and a Victoria Mansion Trustee. She lives in South Portland with her husband and works full-time out of the Fund’s Falmouth office.
