2011-12 Women Standing Together
Women Standing Together (WST) is a growing network of professional women launching entrepreneurial women to new heights. WST members are leaders who share the desire and passion to support and grow entrepreneurs. If you are collaborative, market savvy and philanthropic, this group is for you! We offer three levels of membership. Each offers its own set of benefits, so choose the one that works best for you.
Ways to Get Involved
Mentoring Events
WST meets four times a year in Portland. During collaborative, roundtable sessions WST members provide creative, inspirational ideas that fuel strategic, calculated thinking that leads to real change for the guest entrepreneur. It is an opportunity to not only support and grow budding entrepreneurs, but work side-by-side with women on a whole new level!

Networking Events and Forums
WST members meet throughout the year at networking events and connect through a members only online forum. As well, members are often asked to sit on panels and speak at educational events. At all Maine Women’s Fund events, you’ll have access to a diverse community of intelligent, influential women who share your interest in promoting social change.
Invest in Change
Your membership fee is collectively invested in non-profits that focus their work on entrepreneurship - one of the Fund’s four strategic grantmaking areas that will advance economic security for Maine women and girls. Past grantees include:
- Women, Work & Community, for its programs that address workforce development, microenterprise, leadership development and asset development.
- Dress for Success, which assists women who are entering or re-entering the workforce by providing mentoring and affordable professional clothing.
- Loving Learning, a group that helps teenage girls in rural areas make healthy life choices by providing job shadowing opportunities, mentoring and role-playing exercises.
