Lewiston/Auburn

The Lewiston/Auburn Advisory Council of the Maine Women’s Fund is looking for a few outstanding women and girls in Maine! The Maine Women’s Fund is seeking nominees for its annual Samantha Smith and Sarah Orne Jewett awards. Last year, both of our awards were given to individuals in the Lewiston area. Let’s see if we can do it again! Download the nomination form.

The Samantha Smith Award is given to a young woman (ages 12-21) from Maine who works to promote social changes in her community; inspires other girls to become active in supporting long-lasting change in Maine; uses her voice to boldly influence others; and understands the power of philanthropy to make a difference.

The Sarah Orne Jewett Award is given to a Maine woman who exhibits the attributes of the women in Jewett’s works of fiction: true grit, independence, courage, humor, and discipline.

Please send your nominees from Franklin, Oxford and Androscoggin Counties BY FEBRUARY 1, 2012 to Ellen Alcorn at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or mail to:
